Charles has grown a great deal and is a fine healthy looking boy, was very self willed but is more ............. now. He likes living in Canada very much. He helps do little things about the farm and is useful in many ways. Will go to school during the Winter

Charlie is a bright little fellow, healthy and cheerful. He has a good home and is getting on nicely. Has learned to do many little things and tries to make himself generally useful. Goes to church and school in the winter

November 12 1895

Charlie has grown improved and become quite a good worker. Mr Bird says he is a good boy and tries to do what is right. Goes to church and Sunday school. To receive $150 when he is 21 years of age. If he leaves before then a proportionate amount. To attend school this winter again

Charlie was helping his mistress about the house though he usually works in the field. He is a healthy looking boy but does not grow much. Attended school a part of the winter but is still in the second reader. Was troublesome at school and suspended for a time. Promised to do better at school next winter and to try to make progress. Attends church and Sunday school.

Charles' father, Henry Knight, died January 30, 1897, in Surrey England.

On September 11, 1907, at Belleville, Hastings, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Charles Albert Knight, 26, labourer, born in England to Henry and Mary Knight; and Mary Jane Lancaster, 21, born in Canada, to John Lancaster and Ann Snook.

At least 4 children were born of this marriage: Mary Helen Knight, born June 24, 1908, at Hastings, Ontario, Canada; Ada (Addie) Elizabeth Knight, born August 9, 1909, in Hastings, Ontario, Canada; Eva Salva Knight, born November 6, 1910, in Hastings, Ontario, Canada, died December 15, 1995, in Hastings, Ontario, Canada; and Mabel Hester Knight, born July 3, 1913, in Hastings, Ontario, Canada, died December 23, 2005, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

Mary Jane Lancaster Knight died on February 9, 1958, in Hastings, Ontario, Canada. Charles and Mary Jane are both buried at Foxboro Cemetery, Hastings, Ontario, Canada.
